End of the Year: Our 2016 Highlight Reel

Komal and I have a special surprise for you - a little last minute treat before the hustle and bustle of the holidays, a brand new video highlighting the 2016 Dream, Girl journey.
This year was by far the most intense, overwhelming, surprising, and fantastic year of my life. Our world premiere, going to the White House, and meeting Oprah were all momentous highlights that carried Komal and I through the heartache of her cancer diagnosis, and the insecurity we felt as first time filmmakers putting it all on the line to create Dream, Girl.
This year hasn’t been easy, but it has been worth it. To finally be able to show the film to so many of you has been my wildest dream come true. The film to date has been screened to over 20K people in 81 countries.
Everyday I’m floored by the photos from screenings, notes you send our team, and the love you have for this mission to empower women and girls around the world.
As we move into the New Year Komal, Diana, Kylie, Maggie and I are resolved to keep working hard to expand our global reach and bring Dream, Girl to as many communities, networks, schools, and companies as humanly possible. But first - we need a pause. The DG offices will be closed for two weeks from December 24th - January 6th while we take a much needed break to spend time with our cats and families.
I want to thank you all for your amazing support this year - and as Komal says in our new video we have a “lot of dreaming to do together in the New Year.”
