Greetings

This will most likely be the last time you hear from me until the New Year- I’m currently writing you from a camel in Dubai, and once I’m back in Brooklyn next week, I’ll be in full prep mode to get ready for my fourteen day trip to Tajikistan and Egypt with the American Film Showcase.

Be sure to follow me on instagram to see what me and Annie Wang (one of your favorite entrepreneurs from Dream, Girl) are up to in Egypt later this month!

Sidenote, did I mention I came up with the idea for this film in my living room and never thought I would be bringing it to Dubai or Egypt? SO COOL!

Anyway, I’m reaching out to let you know about three special announcements:

  1. As you may have noticed from the giant beaver at the top of this e-mail Diana Matthews and I rebooted Feminist Wednesday’s podcast BeaverTalk! Tune in every Wednesday to hear us give Hollywood unsolicited advice about feminism. We talk about our favorite media of 2017, the new Lady Gaga film, cat circuses, and much more. You can subscribe on iTunes or wherever you get your podcasts. Just search for “BeaverTalk” brought to you by the Atlantic Transmission Podcast Network.

  2. Since Diana and I have been talking a lot about women in Hollywood it’s no surprise we have also spent a lot of time talking about Harvey Weinstein. It feels like women from all different industries are identifying with the heartache and are carrying the burden of this news. So we have decided to host a special Dream, Girl screening this month to talk about it. Join us Thursday, November 9th at 7pm to see the film and be part of a roundtable conversation about what we can do as women to support one another, lean on each other, and feel seen. Tickets are just $12 and we’d love to see you there.

  3. Speaking of ways you can take action to bring down the patriarchy- making money as my friend Sarah Carson says is “part of my feminism.” I wrote all about this in my e-book Creative Money, and this fall I’ve been on a personal mission to make sure I’m feeling abundant and on top of all my financial goals. Want to talk to entrepreneurs in a no-bullshit way about all things money, sales, and startups? Join me at the Financial Gym Wednesday, November 15th at 6pm to network and connect with other hustlers. I’ll also be moderating am awesome panel discussion covering all things cash money. Click here to get tickets!

Of course if you aren’t in the NYC area don’t hesitate to check out the Dream, Girl events page to see when the film is coming to your community.

Xx,

Erin
